What is Kratom?
This herbal blend contains, among other things, kratom. Kratom is harvested from a fifteen-meter-high rainforest tree, the Mitragyna speciosa. The leaves of this tree are found to contain more than twenty-five compounds that influence the effects of kratom in varying proportions. Kratom is especially known in Southeast Asia, where it is used in many countries as a mild stimulant. In low doses, its effects can be compared to coffee, coca leaves, or nicotine, though this varies greatly by type.
The Strange Effects of Kratom
The kratom plant is extremely sensitive to its growing environment, which makes cultivating kratom particularly challenging. The unique characteristics of the environment where kratom originates affect its effects differently. Think of it as similar to wine tasting. Connoisseurs can instantly detect the difference. With kratom, however, the effect is not as subjective as with wine. For example, a lower dose of the Thai variant can make you feel cheerful and energized. Maeng Da goes a step further, promising a euphoric feeling. Bali and Malaysia are the varieties for those who just want to chill, even with a lower dose.
Much like wine, if you consume enough, you get intoxicated regardless of the variety. With kratom, it’s similar. A higher dose of kratom makes you drowsy and slightly numb, whether it’s Thai, Balinese, or Malaysian kratom.
The effects of kratom are noticeable approximately 5 to 10 minutes after ingestion and can last for several hours. The effects are both relaxing and stimulating, providing a unique experience: you may feel calm, relaxed, and dreamy, while also feeling like you want to be active or work. Sources indicate that kratom is stimulating in lower doses and relaxing in higher doses. Euphoric feelings and a dreamy state are the primary effects.
