In origin, Northern Lights is an American strain which was developed in America in the 70’s. This Afghan weed plant has a wide-ranging genetic origin of 11 different strains and very quickly became an instant classic. It won a lot of prizes in the 70’s and 80’s. It came to the Netherlands around the same time.
Northern Light is a true classic, one that is on the menu in almost any coffee shops in the Netherlands. But also in the United States almost all reviews are positive. Taste and Effects
Northern Light from Royal Queen Seeds is a pure Indica weed. You’ll notice that in terms of both taste and effect. With a sweet aroma of pine and earthy tones, this is a really great weed. The notion that you get stoned from Indica really applies to this beautiful plant. Sit yourself comfortably on the sofa with this weed as you can expect to experience a serious case of couch-lock.

Growth and Crop
Northern Light can look as though it’s a Sativa weed plant. Long, thin stems with a relatively large distance between long, thin leaves disguise its true nature. But it doesn’t necessarily get that big. Indoors it grows to around 1.20 metres. Outdoors though it will happily overlook the neighbours at more than 2 metres in height. So be careful where you plant it in the garden.
This weed plant finishes flowering after 7-8 weeks. Indoors it produces a yield of 50 to 60 grammes per plant. If you grow a number of plants very close together, you can expect to get 600 grammes per square metre. The most powerful effect and the highest yield are obtained as the trichomes start to become light-brown. So harvest Northern Light after approximately 8 weeks and it will reward you with a knock-out stoned effect.
