Using a Bong with a Carb Hole
Fill the bong with water up to just below the air hole. Place a screen in the chillum and put the weed or hash on the screen. Place a finger on the air hole and light the cannabis with a lighter or hemp wick. Take a hit from the bong, and just before you've inhaled enough smoke, remove your finger from the air hole.
Lift-Off Bowl
Instead of using the carb hole, you can also choose to remove the bowl before taking a hit. Place your finger over the carb hole and remove the bowl when you're ready to inhale the smoke. Another advantage of this removable bowl is that it is easy to clean in otherwise hard-to-reach places.
