Chacruna, also known as Psychotria viridis, is a plant from the Amazon rainforest that contains DMT. As the Latin name Psychotria indicates, this plant is known for its psychotropic properties. Chacruna is one of the two main ingredients in the traditional ayahuasca brew. Due to legal restrictions, we cannot provide further information on the preparation of ayahuasca. The ingredients are legally available, but the brew itself is not.

Traditional Ingredient of Ayahuasca
The leaves of chacruna are used by shamans in the Amazon region to make ayahuasca, a now well-known trip cocktail.
Effects of Ayahuasca with Chacruna
For chacruna to be effective, you need another ingredient. The substances in chacruna are not active because they are immediately broken down by our body. We cannot give advice on the correct proportions of the ingredients, but we can speak about the effects of ayahuasca.
An ayahuasca trip can last between 4 and 12 hours, depending on the amount and potency of the brew. Nausea and vomiting often occur before the trip begins, usually within 20 to 60 minutes.
The trip often starts with a feeling of joy, euphoria, love, and empathy, followed by auditory hallucinations. Some say that ayahuasca announces itself audibly. Shapes and colors begin to appear at the edge of your vision and become more prominent. Your ego disappears, and you feel connected to the universe.
Some people experience a life-changing event during an ayahuasca session, while others find it terrifying and never want to do it again. Do not expect to keep control; you must surrender to the journey and the overwhelming feelings, emotions, and hallucinations.
DMT
The active substance in this plant is DMT (N,N-dimethyltryptamine). DMT occurs naturally and is also present in our bodies. After oral ingestion, however, DMT is immediately broken down by liver enzymes and is not active. Synthesized DMT can be smoked for a short but intense trip of about 20 minutes. DMT is illegal in many countries, while plants containing DMT, such as chacruna, are often legal. However, these plants cannot cause a trip without a MAO inhibitor. A MAO inhibitor, often in the form of another plant extract, ensures that DMT is not immediately broken down and thus has psychoactive effects.
Usage
We are unfortunately not allowed to explain how to prepare ayahuasca, as this is not legal. For more information, you can refer to user experiences on the internet. Note: ayahuasca is not like magic mushrooms. The effects last longer, and vomiting and diarrhea are more common. It is important not to use psychedelic natural products at busy parties, on the street, or with strangers. Always ensure the presence of a sober trip sitter and let the trip happen. Do not try to control or direct it.
