Growing Tips from Dutch-Headshop
CBD Purple Grapefruit needs space to reach its full potential. Gently tie down the side branches to control its height and ensure even light distribution. For outdoor growers, a sunny spot is essential, especially for phenotypes with narrower leaves. Indoors, it benefits from a powerful lamp to develop its tropical-scented buds. Due to its strong smell, good ventilation and filtration are crucial in enclosed spaces.
To increase the chance* of a beautiful purple hue in your buds, systematically lower the nighttime temperature during the flowering phase. In the first week of flowering, start with around 27°C during the day and 19°C at night. In the second week, move to 26°C during the day and 17°C at night, and by the third week, adjust to 25°C during the day and 15°C at night. From week three onwards, maintain at least a 10°C difference between day and night, gradually reducing until you reach a final nighttime temperature of 10-11°C in the last week. Never go below 10°C, as this will stop nutrient transport in the plant.
This process activates anthocyanins, the pigments responsible for the purple color. A well-balanced feed with extra phosphorus and potassium during flowering helps keep the plant healthy and enhances the colors. Avoid excess nitrogen, as it can suppress purple hues.
