The Enchanting Red Family
Sweet Seeds' Red Family breaks with the traditional green plant and introduces a spectrum of reddish, purplish, and bluish tones thanks to the high content of anthocyanins. These pigments are not only a feast for the eyes but also a source of diverse and intense aromas. Not every individual cannabis plant will actually turn red or purple. It depends on how the plant expresses itself in your garden or growing space, but also on the environment. However, we have a tip for you.
Growing Red, Purple, or Blue Cannabis
Garden cannabis will be subject to the seasons and weather conditions, but if you grow indoors, you have more control over the growing conditions. Gradually reduce night temperatures from the first week of the flowering phase. From about 20 degrees Celsius in the first week to about 8 degrees Celsius in the last week. This reduces the green chlorophyll and stimulates anthocyanin production. Just like a beautiful maple tree in autumn, a cannabis plant will change color. Provided the plant has that capability.
Innovation in Bloom: F1 Fast Flowering
The F1 Fast Version line represents a revolutionary step in cannabis breeding. By crossing photoperiod-dependent varieties with autoflowering genetics, Sweet Seeds has managed to offer special cannabis seeds for sale. This actually says two things:
- F1 Fast Version seeds flower as fast as an autoflower but still depend on the light cycle or season. Sweet Seeds pioneered the introduction of these fast-flowering hybrids. They can grow larger than an average autoflower but flower just as briefly.
- F1 Fast Version seeds are also the result of crossing two IBL plants. This means that the genetics are very stable, and the plants that grow from the seeds look very similar. So, one plant from the same seed pack won't grow wide like an indica and another tall like a sativa, but exactly the same. That's the advantage of F1 cannabis seeds: reliable and consistent.
Photoperiod vs. Autoflower vs. Fast Flower
At Dutch-Headshop, we offer both photoperiod-dependent and autoflowering seeds, each with unique benefits. Photoperiod-dependent varieties flower in harmony with the seasons and the increasing darkness after summer, while autoflowering varieties flower regardless of light amount. Unlike photoperiod-dependent cannabis plants, autoflowers will start flowering automatically after a certain time.
You might know photoperiod-dependent strains as feminized. But those are two terms that are wrongly used interchangeably. All Sweet Seeds cannabis seeds you can buy from us are feminized: both the light-dependent or photoperiod seeds and the autoflowers.
- Photoperiod cannabis needs at least 12 hours of complete darkness to start flowering.
- Fast Flowers are simply fast-flowering photoperiod cannabis varieties.
- Autoflowers transition gradually into flowering. Usually after just 2 weeks of growth.
