At Dutch-Headshop, we're proud to offer you a selection of Sweet Seeds cannabis seeds. This popular premium seed bank from sunny Valencia in Spain has built up a globally renowned reputation. It's no wonder they are highly regarded in the independent Grow Diaries. Sweet Seeds has a beautiful story and an even more beautiful selection of seeds.
Quality, Aroma, and Effect
Innovation and nature go hand in hand. At Sweet Seeds, they cross innovative strains to astonish you as a grower with what's possible in the cannabis world. Of course, quality comes first at Sweet Seeds, but every cannabis seed brand will tell you that. What interests us is that they emphasize aroma, especially in Valencia.
Cannabis plants have a strong smell. Some strain families, like Cheese, Diesel, and Skunk, can even smell so strongly that during the flowering phase, you can smell a cannabis plant nearby in some gardens down the street. For other varieties, it's a faint smell that you barely notice when you walk by the plant. Sweet Seeds considers how they smell important, not how strong they smell. Smell determines 80% of the taste experience. Even when you smoke or vaporize cannabis.
The smell of a specific cannabis plant is determined by a balance of aromatic compounds in the buds. Terpenes are a group of these compounds that are heavily researched. Because in addition to determining the smell and thus the taste of your cannabis, they also influence the effect. So we know that myrcene, in combination with THC, makes the high more physical. A physical high is also called stoned; the feeling of being heavier and wanting to relax comfortably. Limonene and pinene, two other terpenes, have the opposite effect. Haze varieties are often rich in one of these two compounds, giving you a stronger up high effect; a kind of psychedelic buzz in your head that makes you happy, energetic, and euphoric.
Driven by Passion
Sweet Seeds' cannabis seeds undergo a strict quality control process before reaching you. This aligns with the core values of the Spanish seed bank: passion, hard work, dedication, and research. The cannabis plant is Sweet Seeds' friend and ally, and they are committed to nurturing and developing it. Sweet Seeds is convinced that their work will stand the test of time and have a positive impact worldwide.
The Enchanting Red Family
Sweet Seeds' Red Family breaks with the traditional green plant and introduces a spectrum of reddish, purplish, and bluish tones thanks to the high content of anthocyanins. These pigments are not only a feast for the eyes but also a source of diverse and intense aromas. Not every individual cannabis plant will actually turn red or purple. It depends on how the plant expresses itself in your garden or growing space, but also on the environment. However, we have a tip for you.
Growing Red, Purple, or Blue Cannabis
Garden cannabis will be subject to the seasons and weather conditions, but if you grow indoors, you have more control over the growing conditions. Gradually reduce night temperatures from the first week of the flowering phase. From about 20 degrees Celsius in the first week to about 8 degrees Celsius in the last week. This reduces the green chlorophyll and stimulates anthocyanin production. Just like a beautiful maple tree in autumn, a cannabis plant will change color. Provided the plant has that capability.
Innovation in Bloom: F1 Fast Flowering
The F1 Fast Version line represents a revolutionary step in cannabis breeding. By crossing photoperiod-dependent varieties with autoflowering genetics, Sweet Seeds has managed to offer special cannabis seeds for sale. This actually says two things:
- F1 Fast Version seeds flower as fast as an autoflower but still depend on the light cycle or season. Sweet Seeds pioneered the introduction of these fast-flowering hybrids. They can grow larger than an average autoflower but flower just as briefly.
- F1 Fast Version seeds are also the result of crossing two IBL plants. This means that the genetics are very stable, and the plants that grow from the seeds look very similar. So, one plant from the same seed pack won't grow wide like an indica and another tall like a sativa, but exactly the same. That's the advantage of F1 cannabis seeds: reliable and consistent.
Photoperiod vs. Autoflower vs. Fast Flower
At Dutch-Headshop, we offer both photoperiod-dependent and autoflowering seeds, each with unique benefits. Photoperiod-dependent varieties flower in harmony with the seasons and the increasing darkness after summer, while autoflowering varieties flower regardless of light amount. Unlike photoperiod-dependent cannabis plants, autoflowers will start flowering automatically after a certain time.
You might know photoperiod-dependent strains as feminized. But those are two terms that are wrongly used interchangeably. All Sweet Seeds cannabis seeds you can buy from us are feminized: both the light-dependent or photoperiod seeds and the autoflowers.
- Photoperiod cannabis needs at least 12 hours of complete darkness to start flowering.
- Fast Flowers are simply fast-flowering photoperiod cannabis varieties.
- Autoflowers transition gradually into flowering. Usually after just 2 weeks of growth.

But one tip to keep it neat and safe: please adhere to the rules and law. Keep it small, don't bother anyone, never sell your yields, and don't talk about having plants. In the Netherlands, the police are okay with that. In Germany and Malta, and soon in more European countries, personal cultivation is completely legal, but in other countries, you need to be even more careful.
