Banisteriopsis caapi, better known as the ayahuasca vine from South America, is an essential ingredient in the ayahuasca brew. Although it does not contain DMT itself, it makes DMT-containing plants orally active. We are not legally allowed to go into further details on the preparation of ayahuasca, but the ingredients are legally available, while the brew you can make with them is not.
This vine is known by many names such as ayahuasca vine, hoasca, kahi, dápa, mihi, natéma, yagé, nixi honi xuma, and pindé. There are more than 40 varieties, with Trueno and Ourinhos being the most well-known. In the Amazon, Banisteriopsis caapi is used to make a medicinal and traditional tea.
Banisteriopsis caapi contains natural MAO inhibitors such as harmine, harmaline, and harmalol.

Effect of Banisteriopsis Caapi
According to shamans and other users, Banisteriopsis caapi alone can cause an altered state of consciousness, but this requires a lot of practice and experience. Usually, another plant containing DMT or other psychedelics is added. Normally, DMT is broken down by enzymes when taken orally and is therefore not psychoactive. Banisteriopsis caapi temporarily disables this enzyme, making DMT psychoactive. The primary effect of Banisteriopsis caapi is to inhibit the enzyme monoamine oxidase, thereby making a DMT trip possible.
Ayahuasca
Ayahuasca is made from at least two different plants, with the vine of Banisteriopsis caapi being essential. It is therefore not surprising that this vine is very popular among shamans.
Usage
We are unfortunately not allowed to explain how to make ayahuasca, as this is not legal. For more information, you can refer to user experiences on the internet. Note: ayahuasca is not comparable to magic mushrooms. The effects last longer, and vomiting and diarrhea are common. Do not use psychedelic natural products at busy parties, on the street, or with strangers. Always ensure a sober trip sitter.
